One man, handcuffed and his details being written down but we could not find out why. Qalandiya There is no pressure. We could not get to the new checkpoint as the private guards chased us away. Very few cars.From there we followed in the footsteps of a Palestinian trying to go from Abu Dis, Bethelem in the direction of Ramallah. We went on road 60 leadingto Gaba and at the crossroads we turned east to Jerusalem , road 43. Next to the “initiative” checkpoint we went in the direction of Jericho and drovefor a good half hour until we connected with the road 1 which brings one to Jericho opposite the industrial area of Maaleh Edumim.When we went westwards towards Jerusalem we came to the famous flyingcheckpoint where many cars were waiting in the line. A. of the borderpolice promised to try to speed things up. Here we also got the new phonenumber of the new MP of the container and also that of the border police who are at the surprise checkpoint of Mishor Edumim. The MP responsible for the flying checkpoint is Avi Biton. In short… we did a “big morning trip” which took about an hour withoutbeing detained at a checkpoint which is the daily portion of those wantingto get from the southern West Bank to Ramallah… this usually takes 20minutes.
