Abu-Dis, Al-Ezariya, ContainerTuesday AM 6.12.05Yael Y. L., Hannah A., Michaela R. (reporter)Summary: The day after the terrorist attack in Netanya. Quiet after the storm, very sparse traffic.Al Ezariya:There is no checkpoint. Maybe because the CP in Az-Za’ayyem was “functioning”. (What proves that the checkpoint in Al-Ezariya is meant to let residents of Ma’ale Adumim drive comfortably to Jerusalem). On the day after a terrorist attack, the need arises to show the Israeli public that there are checkpoints- so they put checkpoints on visible places, on the main road.We traveled to the container via Abu-Dis. The road was reasonably empty, we did not see any checkpoints.ContainerThe functioning was effective. The sparse traffic flowed quickly.Abu-DisThe east obstruction next to the monastery: 2 soldiers and one Military Policeman. The few people who arrived- most of them crossed. The same happened at the lower opening in the gate. The gate between the houses in the road that connects between the two openings was wide open for a short time, which saved people having to jump over the high wall. A tractor entered via the open gate in order to continue the work on the wall.
