Followig an invitation of a teacher from Mazra’a-A-Sharkiya, we visited 10 days ago a roadblock for cars and persons at Mutzav Ofra in the vicinity of the villages Taibe, Siluad, Ramun, Mazra’a-A-Sharkiya. This roadblock prevents about 30 000 people to get straight from north-east to Ramallah , which is their natural center for work, health, family and administration and forces them to drive 58 km on dangerous roads in order to reach Ramallah from the south through Qalandya. At Mutzav Ofra we spoke with a couple of reserve soldiers and pointed out, that we cannot understand the reason, why passage is denied there to people and cars. Some days later, our friend the teacher, informed us, that after our visit at the roadblock a small change took place and that pedestrians are now allowed through! We felt encouraged and wrote a letter to the district commander, asking him to remove this roadblock altogether.Let’s see…..
