Morning (+ DCO)
Checkpoint 300, El- Khadr, Halhul, Etzion and the Etzion DCO 06:30-09:00. MachsomWatchers: N.E. and A.K.Checkpoint 300: a long line of pedestrians coming from Bethlehem to Jerusalem. Every one has to lift up his shirt and jacket before approaching to soldiers to get their papers checked.The soldiers are not pleased with our being present… after a short argument we leave; there was nothing we could do there anyway.El-Hadr: no military presence.Etzion checkpoint: traffic flowing, including buses. We saw one taxi being turned back south.Halhul: there were no buses at the entrance to Halhul, on Hwy # 60. Etzion DCO: We arrived at 8:00 am. about 50 people waiting, some since 05:00 in the morning. One man is writing numbers and organizing a queue.The office is closed although the sign in the waiting room says its hours of operation are between 8:00-17:30.We leave and try to find the Liberman road, but can’t find it.Returned to the DCO at 08:45. The office was already open but only 2 windows were open.N.G. tried phoning the new “Ramtak”, (head of DCO), but got a runaround.
