We took the way of Mount Scopus and A-tour to Abu-Dis. At the Pishpash gate, there is a presence of the BP checking people and allowing only blue ID carriers to pass through. The closure is total today, and at the Container we were told by Meir, the CP commander, that the closure became more severe, practically no traffic. At the container, we got off the transit before the CP and we watched helplessly a horror film: many people went down the hill in order to catch the taxis awaiting them. Among them, there were passengers from Amman. They all want to go home in Bethlehem, Hebron etc. Suddenly the cab drivers started running and shouting, and took off in their cabs quickly. Many people were left behind; a BP jeep began chasing them along the road to Abadia. They fled and the jeep remained hiding in a small side way. Meanwhile many people started walking towards the taxis, but got caught by the jeep and were forced to return and walk back to the CP where more detainees were already waiting.After not a long time some of them were released, but were all forced to return back. Even some people with valid DCO certificate were forced to return. A call to Shlomy did not help. Only milk trucks are allowed in today. The closure will be over on Thursday morning, the soldiers say. It is worth checking. Our transit driver told us about a certain soldier by the name of Menachem who suggested to all the transit drivers an “agreement” after gathering all of them: They should not pick anyone who did not pass through the CP Here again the army is turning them into performers of the army policy.We should follow this new trend.We came back quite frustrated.

According to Wye Plantation Accords (1997), Hebron is divided in two: H1 is under Palestinian Authority control, H2 is under Israeli control. In Hebron there are 170,000 Palestinian citizens, 60,000 of them in H2. Between the two areas are permanent checkpoints, manned at all hours, preventing Palestinian movement between them and controlling passage of permit holders such as teachers and schoolchildren. Some 800 Jews live in Avraham Avinu Quarter and Tel Rumeida, on Givat HaAvot and in the wholesale market.
