Qalandiya

Jun-16-2003
| Afternoon

Qalandya – the traffic flows smoothly
and rather quickly. Ambulances are rigorously checked. The
soldiers, who have been in the checkpoint for about ten days now,
they treat the Palestinians correctly – they are ready to listen
and even to help from time to time. Those of the Palestinians who
were refused passage are advised to try their luck at Surda where,
so they say, it’s easier to pass without permits (??!) On the way
to Tora Bora are a lot of new heaps of garbage along the road. Tora
Bora is active, including people who were earlier refused at the
checkpoint.

Ar-Ram. A sticker on the open door of the BP’s stand says:
“They should not be given a country”. We wanted to
photograph it, but the soldier was quicker – he closed the door and
said that it’s an internal matter, not political at all.

We can't promise to stop the violence.

We can promise to keep showing up.
