Qalandiya, Ar-Ram, Atara 09.09.07 a.m.Observers: Meria A, Yehudit E (reporting)A shooting incident north of Ramallah which was related later on Kol Yisrael left its imprint on the way from Jerusalem to Atara and back and was expressed in the unusual number of flying checkpoints. 6:30 – A flying checkpoint immediately after the Hizme checkpoint resulted in a line of 10’s of cars of settlers at the entry to Jerusalem6:55 – There were two way flying checkpoints at the sharp turn on the way to Atara. In answer to our quesiton as to the reason for the checkpoints, the soldiers said that there was a shooting incident in the area and they were looking for one of those who fired. The delay was about 15 minutes.8:15 – A flying checkpoint on the way back near Ofrah. We counted 50 cars.Atara (Bir Zeit)7:15 – There was a line of 10’s of cars, longer than the usual line that is there at this time. Within several minutes, a group of soldiers arrived who acted as traffic police and to direct traffic in both directions.
