Qalandiya, Lil, Hizma, Ar-Ram, Anata Sunday 29.7.2007, AMObservers: Avital T. and Yali D. (Reporting)Qalandiya7:05 – Three booths are opened, it takes about 10-15 minutes to pass to the other side. We speak to someone who forgot his ID and the soldier wouldn’t let him pass, although he has other documents. This is his second time to encounter this soldier, who, according to him, speaks rudely. We do hear someone in the speaker says: “What are you saying… next time I’ll show you what…” The same man tells us that last week, Sunday-Tuesday, the lines were very long, and from Wednesday it was better. Ja’aba (Lil)7:30 – There are a few cars, but the traffic is moving. Hizma7:40 – The traffic moves. Ar-RamThe CP is quiet and there are hardly any people. 7:40 – A MAGAV CP before the Ar-Ram CP. (at the entrance). 8:00 – A police CP at the exit of Ar-Ram.Anata8:15 – The traffic moves. There is construction on the road, we ask a guard from a private company and he says that they are building a booth and a waiting room, and that they will probably build a large CP in Anata (just under the current CP) that will replace the Qalandiya CP, and that Qalandiya will be only for diplomats.
