The Children Gate . 5 recently arrived people are delayed for papers' inspection.
14:45 A-ras Checkpoint
There is a police car in place. Change of shifts. Nevertheless there is no queue. Only randomal inspection on both sides.
Back to the Children Gate – three more are added to the delayed group. It seems that no one's papers are actually being checked, neither of the initial 5 nor of the added 3. Tammi calls the operations commander and she promises to check the situation.
We depart in the direction of Anabta.
15:15 Anabta
No queues on either side. All is calm. The soldiers are from the Nakhshon battalion and are not new to the checkpoint.
We depart in the direction of Beit Iba.

Qalqilya is surrounded on all sides by the separation barrier. The only exit from the city is in the east of the city on the road that leaves the city in an easterly direction. This is where the checkpoint was located. When the checkpoint was active until 2009 our shifts watched long queues of cars being inspected at the only exit from the city to the West Bank. The checkpoint was canceled, but there is a military presence at the entrance to the city.
