Rihan
Rihan, Wednesday, December 8, 2004, PMObservers: Ziva H., Tirtsa B., Nava R. (reporting)13:30 – 15:30The checkpoint is almost empty of people wishing to cross. We notice a new group of soldiers whom we haven’t seen before. This might be the cause for difficulties experienced by some Palestinians who wanted to go through the CP but were sent to Jalama, despite the fact that they live very close to Rihan. The reason being, they were told, is that their papers indicate that they can use the other checkpoint only. With the help of the District Coordination Office (DCO), we were able to assist a few people, but the DCO told us that they are not interested in allowing unauthorized people to use the Rihan CP.This because they do not want people to flood the checkpoint!

North of Jenin, on the Green Line between Israel and the West Bank. A big terminal for the passage of Palestinians with permits allowing entrance into Israel and goods into Israel operates there. In the course of 2009 the terminal was opened for the passage of Israeli Arabic citizens into the West Bank. Since October 2009 they may pass in their cars.
