It seems that people are using the new procedure, whereby the police return the permits in Hebron or Etzion. At least something good is happening… 8:15 El-ArubNoam and Chaya stopped near the road, opposite the grocery store. Soldiers ordered them to go to the other side of the road. The grocery owner, Rabchi, asked that they go into the store and told them that yesterday, at around 12:30, a Captain by the name of Moshe came, and standing at the entrance to the village opposite the agricultural academy, he fired tear-gas all around and this, because a stone was thrown. The grocery owner said that a girl had thrown the stone. The Captain said that for each stone, the whole village will get tear-gas. Idit phoned again, and finally got through to the Commander of the DCL, who although he yelled at her over the phone, ordered a soldier to go out, about 5 minutes later, and he gave out some more numbers. One has to prod them sometimes. And finally – a little story. One woman complained that yesterday at 17:00 at Checkpoint 300, her magnetic card and ID card were taken from her and she didn’t receive a receipt for them. They told her that her ID will be returned at the DCL, but there they don’t know anything about it. After calling various people, we spoke with the Commander of the Checkpoint who said that this is an outrageous story since it is not possible that a soldier would take an ID card from anyone and give a receipt, since this is unlawful.
