The schoolchildren must certainly have crossed, but the Hummer is still waiting.Rihan, 08:05A lone pickup is being checked at the vehicle crossing. A huge pile of hummus (garbanzo) plants is being offloaded.At the pedestrian gate, holders of agricultural permits are not being let through on the contention that the picking season is over, and there is no other work in the groves that justifies transit at a checkpoint.A man needs to get to the Hadera law courts by 10:00 in order to testify in a case concerning his injury when he worked in Israel. He is sent to Jalama checkpoint! A lawyer is supposed to send him the summons in order that he may pass.A few pedestrians are crossing. Otherwise, the place is deserted.At 09:50 we left the checkpoint.

    • North of Jenin, on the Green Line between Israel and the West Bank. A big terminal for the passage of Palestinians with permits allowing entrance into Israel and goods into Israel operates there. In the course of 2009 the terminal was opened for the passage of Israeli Arabic citizens into the West Bank. Since October 2009 they may pass in their cars.
