Morning

15:00 - Shaked-Tura checkpoint

Only a  few people are waiting.
School will begin on Sunday 24/8.
A man who holds a temporary Israeli residence wishes to visit his family at Tura. He says that at times he is allowed in. Today the soldiers told him to get lost.

15:30 - Rihan-Barta'a checkpoint
The person who was told to get lost from the Shaked checkpoint had already gone through the Rihan checkpoint.
Many people complain about the inspectors' conduct. For example, a female inspector who talks on her private telephone and does not stop when there are people awaiting inspection. If someone dares to remark on that, she makes that individual to wait even longer.

Only one inspection booth is operational.

A few people complain about the process of obtaining  a new permit when the old one has expired.
Two residents of Aaneen tell us that although they own land inside the Seam line zone, they cannot get a permit.
Many drivers wait for occasional passengers. It seems that today there are less people than usual.
All complain about slow passage in the mornings.

17:30 - We leave.
