Qalandiya, Ar-Ram, Anata, Sunday afternoon, 30/10/05Observers: Tamar F. and Phyllis W. (reporting)Anata At 2 PM the traffic flowed in both directions, with a short line of cars going towards Jerusalem. There was no line of pedestrians.Ar-Ram We reached the CP a little after 2:30 PM. There were no lines at the CP and passage, of cars and pedestrians, was rapid. There were no detainees.Qalandiya We reached Qalandiya at 3 PM. A large number of people passed through the CP and, generally, lines were not long. Passage was rapid all during our shift. Danny, the DCO representative, left the CP before our arrival and Anton, his replacement, came at about 4 PM. No problems arose during our shift and we observed no one who was denied passage. Apparently due to the Ramadan fast and the terrible weather, very few peddlers bothered to put up their stands. By 5 PM, as the end of the fast approached, the CP was deserted so we left too. On our way back we saw that Ar-Ram was deserted as well. Unlike what we saw in recent weeks, there were no late detainees.
